Maternity

This photo was taken close the the Forth Bridge. I think it is delightful. The sun was brilliant and we had some tea and scones nearby. It was a perfect outing, one of many we have had in Scotland.

Summertime

Today the wind is blowing, the trees are tossing and so a reminder of summer seems right.

The Estuary at Southend

The Thames Estuary at Southend-on-Sea. I always like a chance to walk beside the Thames Estuary. Not very often these days, but we do now and then.

It is not yet the 11th of November but here is a reminder of the misery of war. When will it ever end.

I can't help wishing that summer was still here.

Still pottering about

Here I am again, getting through easily.

Quite a strong wind is blowing today. We walked through Mill Hill Park this morning. The sun shone but not ideal for a walk. I should not grouse as it could be much worse. It could be pouring with rain.
I have been looking , and listening, to Youtube lately. I find so much music which takes me back to the past, that I really must not listen too much. At my age it is not good to be too nostalgic. Live in the present is my motto. At the same time it is very fascinating to hear songs that I have not thought about for years. One of them that my Dad used to sing brings tears to my eyes. Pale Hands I Loved, a very old song.
The golden trees just outside the window are tossing in the wind. They are so lovely.
Now I am must switch off and think about lunch.

Autumn

The sun is grilliant today. I can't believe it. The leaves on the London planes along the road are brighter gold this autumn than I ever remember! I hope that this glory goes on for as long as is possible. I must photograph them. I should like to have a woodland walk today but I don't suppose we shall. At least we went to the hospital this morning and also to Lidl. What an exciting few hours!
Burnt Oak is its usual busy self today. I think I should find a quiet suburban area too quiet after years in a busy, multi-cultural, market type of place. I rather wish that the old Co-op store was still along the road on the corner of the Edgware Road. They had lovely China sales. At least Tesco is a few minutes walk which is useful for old codgers like us.
I am going to get my camera now and take some pictures of those magnificent trees.
