TAMARISK HOLIDAYS.
The sun always shone on our childhood holidays,
At least, so it always seems,
The sea was calm, the sky was blue,
And the sun shone golden beams.
We walked down lanes to lovely beaches,
Pebbles, seaweed and sand.
The sight of the tamarisk jogs our memories,
And many years are spanned.
The waves gently splashed our swimsuit clad bodies
As we happily paddled and swam.
We dug in the sand and joyfully planned
The rest of our holiday dreams.
There must have been storms and rain and wind
Sometimes in those far off years,
But they slipped from our minds. left only the sun
To remember with nostalgic tears.
