Cap Gris Nez

I should like to be beside the sea today. It is not so overpoweringly hot as it has been lately and sea breezes are what I long for, also a dip in the sea. The picture is of two photos of the headlands at Cap Gris Nez joined together.

Rambling

I think that most makers of blogs are very much younger that I am.I can't imagine that many of them would be interested in my ramblings. I have lived such a different life and in such a different time to so many of the young people whose blogs I have browsed through. I find it very interesting to read some of these blogs and to catch a glimpse of the writers. I am so glad to have this opportunity. At this moment I am sitting at the computer trying to think what to say next. I have looked out of the window at the large lime tree which is just outside and at the huge London plane which is just the other side of the road. They are a comforting sight when the road is a very busy one with constant traffic tearing along it. Opposite is a row of Edwardian houses which must have been in the middle of pleasant countryside when they were built. Very different now. It is time I thought about putting the kettle on and having a cup of tea. I think this places me as an elderly person who was born and has alwys lived in England. My husband, who was born in Croatia when it was part of Yugoslavia, has lived in England for nearly sixty years. He has lived here long enough to enjoy his cup of tea too!

This is an old ancestor of mine, my great, great grandmother, Jane.
